About our school
Bean Primary School is a one-form entry, village primary school set in an idyllic rural location; it even has its own woods! Children are offered a broad and stimulating curriculum which is taught through topics, allowing children to make links between their learning, helping them to piece together knowledge through the why, how, when and where questions that children frequently ask. Staff understand that to develop children fully, a broad range of experiences are required to allow each child to shine and achieve. These include: outdoor learning activities, a wide range of sporting opportunities, afterschool clubs, two residential trips in the older age groups, opportunities for House Captains and Rights Respecting Ambassadors to represent the school and numerous performance opportunities throughout the age groups promoting acting, singing and dancing. Our Year 4 pupils have just recently presented a wonderful ukulele performance to parents and our Year 5s sung beautifully at the Orchard Theatre. Children’s achievements are captured in our weekly celebration assemblies which are open to parents.

School Update 24-4-2020
Posted: Apr 24, 2020 by: admin on: Mr Reilly's Blog
Following the Easter break, we are now resuming our school offer to specific children in line with government guidance. Teachers are uploading work for your children to complete either weekly or daily depending on their ages. Feedback has been helpful from parents to help modify and adjust things accordingly and we will continue to be mindful of parents who are now taking on the role of teacher at home. Do remember that creativity, social development and well-being are just as important as 5 +7 or n-3y, so try to relax and enjoy this extra time with your children; they do grow up very quickly.
I know that some children have completed their workbooks and therefore new books can be collected from the school reception area as the need arises. We are also aware that children in England Class may be coming to the end of their activities sent out before the lockdown so new packs will be available in the next few days. More information to follow.
As well as the ‘Links’ tab on the website, which has a wide range of activities to try, we now also have some fun maths card games for all aged children on the ‘Home Learning’ tab under - resources. Do have a go.
If your child is entitled to a free school meal (other than the Key Stage One offer), please contact the office as packed lunches can be collected from Reception, although these do need to be ordered by 9:30.
